John Hudson Publishing is an independent publisher of quality non-fiction books with focus on the history of place: settlements, buildings and landscapes.

We encourage exploration of all traditions and all periods. For us ‘heritage’ is not only grand houses, cathedrals and great gardens but also the day-to-day and the familiar – places in which we spend most of our time.

We are small where it counts, supporting and encouraging our authors to produce their best work. As part of a network of specialists we produce beautiful books in any number, stimulate publicity, and generate sales with effective distribution.  

As independent publishers we contribute to a vibrant and growing publishing scene which, with our colleagues in independent bookselling, celebrates and encourages diverse publishing and access to a wide range of authors.
